My life has been chaotic, but now is the time for me to get back on track. And so far, I have not been entirely absent from the world of writing.
My entry into Hodderscape's Open Call (which began way back in 2015!) went better than I could have hoped for: my entry for Aegis Immemorial was in the final 25 considered out of an initial pool of over 1400 entries! Ultimately, they did not ask for my full manuscript, but it was an amazing experience and gave my confidence a real boost. Since then, I have been working on polishing Aegis Immemorial even more. After much deliberation, I have decided to take a terrifying step of self-publishing Aegis Immemorial myself. This will be an adventure for me unlike any other, but I am very much looking forward to it!
Meanwhile, I continue to write (usually in the dead of night, because apparently sunlight kills my creativity...). Among my other projects, I am working on two very different YA projects, with the working titles of 'Welcome to Mayberry Hill' and 'The Runner.'
'Welcome to Mayberry Hill' follows the the life of a young trans man, who has moved to the countryside to find some peace and quiet while he navigates the early stages of his transition. Unfortunately for him, his idyllic new home lies right next door to a real life wizard, which means he might not be getting the peace and quiet he was hoping for!
'The Runner' is a science fiction outing, set on an alien world without a single human in sight. Instead, we follow Mahr, an alien technician wandering a ruined world, searching for the lost technological marvels of his people.
I have high hopes for both of these projects, and will be posting periodical updates here about their progress!
